Committee Charges

Development Committee
  • Develops and implements long-term strategies for increasing and sustaining membership base;
  • Develops and implements strategies for increasing and sustaining private, corporate and foundation support for the mission;
  • Provides regular communication to members on work of the organization.

Finance and Planning Committee

  • Prepares and monitors annual budgets, cash flow and other financial concerns;
  • Develops and evaluates personnel policies and practices;
  • Responsible for annual audit of organization;
  • Monitors activities and projects in relationship to the organizational goals and objectives stated in the bylaws and planning documents;
  • Monitors organizational documents, such as bylaws and develops policies as needed;
  • Reviews projects from other committees for consistency with planning documents;
  • Makes appropriate reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Historical and Cultural Resources Committee

  • Supports truly useful means for achieving success in historic preservation, interpretation of natural, cultural and historic assets, implementation of regional interpretive objectives and other projects consistent with the goals of the 10-Year Plan;
  • Makes appropriate reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Natural Resources and Agriculture Committee

  • Supports truly useful means for achieving success in natural resource conservation and enhancement, agriculture, and land use initiatives consistent with the goals of the 10-Year Plan;
  • Makes appropriate reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors;
  • Active Subcommittees: Water Subcommittee, Agriculture Subcommittee, Source to Sea Planning Subcommittee
  • Meeting Agendas and Minutes.
Tourism and Community Resources Committee
  • Develops, recommends and implements programs and projects in tourism, hospitality, community revitalization, economic development and mill reuse;
  • Provides forum for community leaders, tourism businesses and professionals, tourism destinations, economic development professionals and others to convene and discuss ideas;
  • Makes appropriate reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
