dedicated to preserving and protecting the rich character of the
towns and communities that
comprise the Quinebaug-Shetucket Heritage Corridor.
Membership in our organization entitles you to many benefits, and
your support helps TLGV accomplish our mission to conserve, celebrate,
and enhance the significant historical, cultural, natural and scenic

& Growing Membership Membership

We invite our area farms, nurseries, and agriculture
related businesses in the region to participate in a new initiative
- the Green and Growing
Members of The Last Green Valley. This organization actively works
to promote, protect, and celebrate the many agricultural businesses
and farms within the 35 towns that comprise the Quinebaug & Shetucket
Heritage Corridor. Over the past several years we have focused on the
sustainability of the agricultural community through the work of our
Natural Resources and Agriculture Committee and other activities including:
- Producing Green and Growing - An Agriculture
Guide to The Last Green Valley. This brochure provides information
on 134 agriculture
related businesses open to the public. We also produced a companion
piece – Green and Growing Ventures, a map and guide to
agriculture in the region.
- Funding projects in support of local agriculture
including a marketing campaign for the Coventry Regional Farmers
Market and a consumer
survey to determine viability of local dairy products. The survey
results helped the dairy farmers that own The Farmer’s Cow
moved forward with confidence that a regional market was eager to
purchase and
support locally produced dairy products.
- Helping to establish and on-going participation
in “Celebrating
Agriculture,” a one-day festival showcasing the best of The Last
Green Valley’s locally grown and produced products.
We invite
our area agriculture businesses to join TLGV Green and Growing Members
and enjoy benefits that will provide greater exposure and visibility
for their business to the 300,000 residents that live within the
35
towns of the corridor as well as those visiting the region. Benefits
include:
- Use of our new Grown in the Last Green Valley logo
- Listing on The Last Green Valley website.
- Listing on The Last Green Valley website with link to your website
for members at $250 level and above
- Listing in the updated issue of Green and Growing brochures (for
those agriculture businesses that are open to the public)
